Transform high-priority LinkedIn prospects into fully monitored pipeline opportunities. Klipy intelligently logs conversations, alerts you to stalled deals, and keeps your sales process moving forward—but only when you choose to activate it.

Understanding Contact Status Types

"Ongoing Lead" Status

What it means: This is an active sales prospect you're pursuing
What happens when activated:

  • ✅ All LinkedIn conversations automatically logged to contact timeline

  • ✅ Messages appear in your Focused Inbox for priority attention

  • ✅ Stale conversation alerts when communication stops

  • ✅ Integration with deal stages and pipeline management (coming soon)

"Casual Network" Status (Default)

What it means: Social or personal contact not being actively pursued
What happens with this status:

  • ✅ LinkedIn profile remains linked to contact record

  • ✅ Manual messaging still available through Klipy

  • ✅ Contact enrichment data preserved

  • ❌ No automatic conversation logging

  • ❌ No stale conversation monitoring

  • ❌ Messages stay private and untracked

Why We Use Opt-In Monitoring

Privacy Protection

  • LinkedIn is Social First: People share personal updates, family news, and casual conversations

  • Professional Boundaries: Not every LinkedIn connection needs sales tracking

  • Data Cleanliness: Prevents irrelevant social chatter from cluttering your CRM

  • Relationship Respect: Maintains trust by only tracking declared business relationships

Compliance & Safety

LinkedIn Terms Adherence: Selective monitoring aligns with platform expectations
Account Protection: Prevents automated activity that could flag your account

How to Activate Lead Monitoring

From LinkedIn Inbox

  1. Select the Conversation

    • Navigate to LinkedIn Inbox

    • Choose the prospect conversation

  2. Change Contact Status

    • Click "Casual Network" badge

    • Confirm you want to enable auto-logging

    • Status change takes effect immediately

  3. Verify Activation

    • Contact status shows "Ongoing Lead" badge

    • New conversation indicator appears in Focused Inbox

    • Auto-logging begins with next message exchange

What Gets Auto-Logged

Analysis Criteria

Only summarize conversations that contain at least one of these qualifying elements:

  • Buying signals (timeline, urgency, budget mentions, comparison shopping)

  • Pain points or specific business challenges

  • Product/service interest or questions

  • Objections or concerns raised

  • Relationship building progress

  • Agreed next steps or commitments

SKIP conversations that only contain:

  • Generic pleasantries without business context

  • One-way pitches with no meaningful response

  • Purely personal/off-topic chat

  • Automated or templated messages

Interaction Format

Summary: Summary from the full context of LinkedIn messages (both directions)

Positive Indicators:

  • Buying Signals: Timeline mentions, urgency, budget discussions, comparison shopping

  • Pain Points Identified: Specific challenges or needs expressed

  • Engagement Level: Questions asked, meeting requests, referrals, response quality

  • Product Interest: Features discussed, use cases mentioned, demo requests

Concerns/Objections:

Any hesitations, competitor preferences, budget constraints, timing issues, or other barriers mentioned

Suggested Follow-ups:

Specific follow-up steps, timeline commitments, deliverables, or meetings scheduled

Klipy will wait until the conversation is no longer active to make sure it can capture the full context instead of short snippets of it. Interaction summary might show up in the timeline maximum 60 minutes from the moment you finish the conversation.

Managing Lead Status Changes

Promoting from Casual Network

When to Upgrade:

  • Prospect expresses buying interest

  • Company shows expansion or funding signals

  • Referral source recommends pursuing

  • Competitor intelligence suggests opportunity

Activation Process:

  1. Review conversation history for context

  2. Enable monitoring with appropriate alert timing

  3. Update deal stage to reflect current status

  4. Set initial follow-up task if needed

Downgrading to Casual Network

When to Downgrade:

  • Deal closed (won or lost)

  • Prospect explicitly not interested

  • Budget/timeline pushed beyond fiscal year

  • Contact changes to non-decision-maker role

Deactivation Process:

  1. Click "Ongoing Lead" badge

  2. Confirm you want to stop auto-logging

  3. Choose to archive existing logged conversations

  4. Update deal stage to "Closed" or "Nurture"

Troubleshooting Lead Monitoring

Auto-Logging Not Working

  • Check Contact Status: Verify "Ongoing Lead" status is active

  • LinkedIn Connection: Ensure LinkedIn integration is functioning

  • Message Sync: Allow up to 60 seconds for new messages to appear

  • Ongoing Conversation: Klipy will wait until the conversation is no longer active to make sure it can capture the full context instead of short snippets of it.

Missing Conversation History

  • Status Timeline: Only messages after "Ongoing Lead" activation are logged

  • Privacy Settings: Previous "Casual Network" messages remain private

  • Re-linking Required: Profile disconnection/reconnection may affect history

Lead monitoring respects prospect privacy while maximizing your sales effectiveness. Only conversations you explicitly choose to monitor are tracked in your CRM.
